But I can tell you why it is the key to living a joyously healthy, balanced, creative and successful life!
You arrived in this world possessing a temperament, a body and an intellect that respond to external stimuli with emotions and physical reactions. But that which first breathed life into you encompasses temperament, body and intellect.
It goes by many names: God, Allah, Elohim, the Tao, Heavenly Father, Divine Mother, Sacred Spirit. The Spirit within you is your soul, the divine template designed to guide you to your highest good. It is "the still, small voice" of Wisdom and Truth. Many of us struggle with relationships, responsibilities and decisions unconscious of its presence until a crisis awakens us! Why?
Over time, you developed a personality to pilot you, navigating as best it could to avoid or minimize pain and danger, while increasing pleasure and safety. By the time you were on the cusp of adolescence, your personality had you convinced that it was the totality of your Self and you need not maintain a conscious awareness of your soul!
The fact that you are reading these words suggests that the You who preceded your personality has made itself known to your consciousness. Congratulations! Embrace your soul as your teacher and receive its gifts for you!
I have been a student of "mind-body medicine" for decades, attending conferences conducted by the Harvard Medical School and The Institute of Noetic Sciences, and workshops and lectures by such pioneering physicians as Bernie Siegel, Larry Dossey, Dale Matthews, Raymond Moody, Brian Weiss, and Deepak Chopra.
As a certified master hypnotherapist, 
I have witnessed the ability of the human mind to heal its body. As a 3rd degree Reiki Master and practitioner of Quantum Touch, I have experienced the energetic presence of Spirit transcend the illusion of material limitations to heal.
I am a hospital-trained chaplain (oncology, psychiatry, general surgery, ICU & ER), seminary educated theologian (Emory University cum laude ‘89, Theta Phi national honor society), an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister (since 1989) and a registered Corporate Coach. I am training to become a certified Dream Coach ® by September, 2005.
Lastly, every wedding and holy union ceremony I perform is created to celebrate each couple’s spirituality, commitment and love. Each memorial service is a celebration of the loved one’s life.
